Thinking?

Philippians 4:8-9 NIV
[8] Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. [9] Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Romans 12:18–If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Forgive—May Grace Abound in My Life

Colossians 3:12-17 NIV

[12] Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. [13] Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. [14] And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. [15] Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. [16] Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. [12-14] So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it. [15-17] Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.

What if?

My Holy Father,

Oh God, I hurt and am struggling with things in my life. Let me lay my burdens down at the feet of your cross. Let me not struggle and hurt when thinking about these very difficult situations and trying to deal with the things going on in my life that are tearing me apart. Let me not think “what if” this happens or “what if” that happens but rather let me think “what you can do.”

Let me wholeheartedly rely upon you, oh God, to take the burdens off of my mind and shoulders that I’m caring and feel the weight lifted as you take control of my life. Oh God, you are in control of everything and you know the outcomes of all situations but please take control of my life so that I can allow the burdens not to be so difficult on mind.

Refuge in my Lord

Psalm 16:1-11 NIV

[1] Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. [2] I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” [3] I say of the holy people who are in the land, “They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.” [4] Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips. [5] Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. [6] The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. [7] I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. Oh My Lord And God

How do you approach the Almighty God as you start your day and as you finish your day? It’s not always easy to put God front and center in our life. We are bombarded by the influences of this world to take our time and attention away from our Lord and our God As opposed to thinking of how we can serve our God.

As we ponder the beginnings of each day, it is the reflections of how we approach our thoughts and our actions which ultimately reflects of how we think of our mission to be obedient to our God and to carry out the Great Commission which was given to us by our Lord.

Do we really think about how we can serve others even as we go about our day-to-day responsibilities as a father, as a mother, and has a son or daughter of our God?

It’s the beginning of the day, the time that we sit, the thoughts that we have in our minds that helps us keep our true focus of how we can serve our God.

God Gives Us His Spirit

Luke 11:5,9,13
And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
