Oh, how difficult it is every day to go through our daily routines of work, school, and just plain dealing with “life’s deck of cards.” Then, dealing with these things on our mind and truly knowing that our God is in control of our life. Trying to keep everything in perspective is a very hard thing to do I like the following verses to ponder upon when I get to this point.
Lamentations 3:19-26: I remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall.I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
The following song truly speaks to us in these situations.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. Your mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning, great is your faithfulness. You, Lord, are my portion, says my soul; therefore I will hope in you.
You, Lord, are good to those who wait for you, to the soul that seeks you; it is good that we should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. The Lord will not cast off forever, but will have compassion; for God does not willingly afflict or grieve the righteous ones.
So let us examine all our ways, and return to the Lord; let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven.
