I think there are many times in our lives that we feel we have no place to turn to. Even when we feel like we have a relationship with God, we don’t always approach God in such a way that he can bear our burdens and our problems that we are dealing with.
The Bible teaches us that our God and the Holy Spirit, the comforter, will help us through all the problems that we face. God’s word tells us that Jesus was faced with all the same problems and sins/challenges that we face. Therefore, how should we approach God in such a way that he can help us through our daily struggles and bear our burdens?
In Psalm 27:8, is says, “My heart says of you, ‘Seek his face!’Your face, Lord, I will seek.” How do we do that?
I love the hymn, “Lord, We come before the now,” as it gives us the theme of how God is not only approachable but that He is there for us.
“Lord, We Come Before Thee Now”
By:William Hammond
Lord, we come before Thee now, At Thy feet we humbly bow: Oh, do not our suit disdain! Shall we seek Thee, Lord, in vain?
Lord, on Thee our souls depend; In compassion now descend, Fill our hearts with Thy rich grace, Tune our lips to sing Thy praise.
In Thine own appointed way. Now we seek Thee, here we stay. Lord, we know not how to go. Till a blessing Thou bestow.
Send some message from Thy Word. That may peace and joy afford; Let Thy Spirit now impart. Full salvation to each heart.
Comfort those who weep and mourn, Let the time of joy return; Those that are cast down lift up, Make them strong in faith and hope.
Grant that all may seek and find. Thee a gracious God and kind. Heal the sick, the captive free; Let us all rejoice in Thee.
Ps. 27:8
